Diabetes Australia
Diabetes Australia is the national body for people affected by all types of diabetes and those at risk. It is committed to reducing the impact of diabetes and works in partnership with diabetes health professionals and educators, researchers and healthcare providers to minimise the impact of diabetes on the Australian community.

National Diabetes Services Scheme
NDSS delivers diabetes-related products at subsidised prices and provides information and support services to people with diabetes. Registration is free.

Diabetes NSW
The New South Wales branch of Diabetes Australia works proactively to improve the day-to-day lives of people living with diabetes, help prevent diabetes-related complications and make things easier by educating carers, employers and the general public.

JDRF – Type 1 Diabetes
The Australian branch of the international charity for Type 1 diabetes research. Their website contains information for patients with diabetes, health care professionals managing Type 1 diabetes and researchers.

Nutrition Australia
Australia’s peak community nutrition education body providing scientifically based nutrition information to encourage all Australians to achieve optimal health through food variety and physical activity. Visit their website for recipes, fact sheets and other resources.

The Glycemic Index Website
A searchable database run by the University of Sydney. Look up the glycaemic index for many foods and drinks available in Australia.

The Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society
ADPS was established to advance clinical and scientific knowledge of diabetes in pregnancy. Their website is geared towards health professionals but also contains valuable resources and patient information.

Endocrine Web
EndocrineWeb aims to provide patients with accurate and current information about endocrine disorders in plain language. They explain the causes and symptoms of these disorders and how they can be treated.

The Australian Thyroid Foundation
The Australian Thyroid Foundation provides support and educational services to members and their families. It has a robust Patient Information section on thyroid conditions and treatments.

The Endocrine Society of Australia (ESA) Patient Resources
The Endocrine Society of Australia has established an international collaboration with the US Endocrine Society to adapt patient information to the Australian setting and make them readily available. The information is adapted to Australia national settings including medications and tests. Other resources on hormone.org may be helpful but may not be consistent with Australian practice.

PCOS guidelines
Produced by Monash University in 2018, this International evidence-based guideline for the assessment and management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is designed to provide clear information to assist clinical decision making and support optimal patient care.

The Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association of Australia – Facebook
The official Facebook page of POSAA used by the POSAA Committee to promote activities of the association to the general public. It is not to be used for general discussion of PCOS (inc. questions, symptoms and requests for information of a personal nature).

Osteoporosis Australia
Osteoporosis Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation responsible for providing osteoporosis information and services to the community and health professionals. The websites has an extensive amount of patient information and resources.

The Australian Menopause Society
The AMS is group of doctors and other health care professionals who each have a particular interest in women’s health in midlife and menopause, and the promotion of healthy ageing. Their website has a section of resources for women including a directory to “Find an AMS doctor”, information sheets and menopause videos.

The Australian Pituitary Foundation
The Australian Pituitary Foundation was founded by pituitary patients and family members, who saw the need to support people who have rare conditions of the pituitary gland. The website has sections on patient information, support network groups as well as an area for health professionals.

The Australian Addisons Disease Association
The AADA website aims to supply up to date information to people with Addison’s disease as well as supply a caring network to give support for people with Addison’s disease

Andrology Australia
This program aims to provide information and education to the public and professional communities as well as supporting and developing those individuals, communities and organisations with an interest in men’s health. Topics include prostate disease and prostate cancer, testicular cancer, male infertility, use and abuse of testosterone treatments and sexual dysfunction including erectile dysfunction (impotence).
